Pharmacy Technician II

Location: The Dalles, OR

One Community Health (OCH) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support the daily operations of a new 340B Retail Pharmacy at our clinic in The Dalles.

The ideal candidate will work closely with the pharmacy team to ensure the accurate dispensing of medications and provide exceptional customer service to our patients. This role includes prescription processing, patient assistance, maintaining regulatory compliance, and optimizing 340B program benefits. The Pharmacy Technician II will contribute to the seamless operation of the pharmacy and the delivery of patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer customer inquiries and provide information on prescription status and pharmacy services.
  • Process customer transactions, including payments and insurance claims.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor 340B drug inventory, including receiving and dispensing medications.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to ensure availability.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as pharmacy policies.
  • Assist pharmacists with internal audits to maintain compliance with the 340B program and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with pharmacists and pharmacy staff to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the 340B Program team and other stakeholders to ensure the successful operation of the retail and 340B programs.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Operational Support:

  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of pharmacy equipment.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing and managing paperwork.

Prescription Processing:

  • Assist pharmacists in processing and filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
  • Utilize pharmacy management software (Epic Willow) to manage prescriptions.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in retail pharmacy and exposure to 340B dispensing.
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service role.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current Oregon Pharmacy Technician License at the time of hire.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations, medications, and medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in using pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing regulations and apply them to pharmacy operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand complex technical materials such as reports, instructions, and manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, management, and external partners in a diverse, multicultural environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities in high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Security and Privacy regulations.
  • Proven capacity for maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual/Bicultural (English and Spanish).
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
  • Experience working Epic Willow
  • College coursework in a technical or healthcare-related field.

Compensation:

  • Hourly/Non-Exempt: Starting at $25.50 per hour, with increases based on experience.
  • Bilingual Differential: An additional $0.75 per hour for bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish.
