Community Health Worker & Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) Driver- Bilingual

One Community Health (OCH) is seeking a qualified and dedicated individual for the role of Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) Driver and Community Health Worker (CHW). This position is a key component of our mission to provide comprehensive and inclusive healthcare services to local, diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Mobile Medical Unit Driver and Community Health Worker, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating mobile unit events, managing logistics, and delegating tasks within the team. Serving as the primary driver of the MMU, you will ensure seamless operations and maintain regular communication with the MMU Manager, offering timely updates on team progress.

The MMU CHW proactively addresses challenges, collaborates with the team for conflict resolution, and engages supervisors when necessary. Identifying barriers to accessing preventative and acute services on the MMU, the CHW collaborates with the MMU Team Lead to find creative solutions. This position is responsible for tracking data collected through outreach, completing necessary reports, and, when requested, training to become a certified OR and WA Medicaid Assister, assisting clients with health coverage options.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • BLS/CPR certified (must be completed within 30 days of hire)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for company insurance purposes.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (reading, speaking, and writing).
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral).
  • Relationship management skills.
  • Initiative, good judgment, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare systems, and local community resources.
  • HIPAA regulations compliance.
  • Customer service and workplace safety awareness.
  • Able to work in a dynamic and changing healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Traditional Health Worker Certification
  • OHP application assister training
  • Bachelor's degree in public health or 2 years' experience in medical/dental assisting, healthcare administrative roles, or healthcare insurance.
  • Experience with Epic EMR

Wage

  • Hourly/Non-Exempt: Starting at $25.50 per hour, depending on experience
  • Bilingual Differential: Additionally, we offer $0.75 per hour as compensation for bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish.
