Position Summary:
The Credentialing Clerk supports the credentialing and recredentialing processes for all healthcare providers at the FQHC. This role is responsible for collecting, verifying, and maintaining accurate provider documentation and assisting with payer enrollment and compliance tracking. The Credentialing Clerk works under the direction of the Credentialing Supervisor to ensure timely and accurate credentialing in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities:
· Collect and organize credentialing documents from providers, including licenses, certifications, malpractice insurance, and other required materials.
· Enter and maintain provider data in credentialing databases and systems (e.g., CAQH, PECOS, NPPES).
· Track and monitor expirables (e.g., licenses, DEA, board certifications) and send timely reminders for renewals.
· Assist with the preparation and submission of credentialing and recredentialing applications to insurance payers and credentialing bodies.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider files in both electronic and paper formats.
· Respond to internal and external requests for credentialing information in a timely and professional manner.
· Support the onboarding process by ensuring credentialing documentation is complete and submitted on schedule.
· Assist with audits and reports related to credentialing compliance.
· Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Credentialing Supervisor.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
· Minimum 1–2 years of administrative or clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare or credentialing setting.
· Experience in an FQHC or community health center is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Familiarity with credentialing software and systems (e.g., CAQH, PECOS) is preferred.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
